A Word from our Board President

No category

It has been some months since I wrote to everyone, and I apologize for that. Life has been getting in the way of mine often recently!

Prior to Rev. Amanda’s announcement of her departure, the Board met numerous times and word-smithed the Contract provided to her by the UUA in order to make it our own. We approached Arlen with the offer of a stipend for him to handle Staff Management for the year on site, and to be a Liaison to select Teams who may need his wisdom and guidance, and he agreed. The Finance Team met and completely revised our Budget, yet again (Thanks, Terry and All!). I have also been working on the creation of a Transition Team to work with the UUA and research which type of Minister might suit us best next year; Interim, Developmental, or Settled. We have a team of five members and those who have graciously consented to serve are: Trinity Martell, Will Huskey, Spencer Ault, Kim Lynn and Jim Scott. I will have the Revised Budget to present to the Board at our meeting this Thursday, June 12th, for approval. Things have been moving so fast of late!

Finally, I just want to say that while our hearts may be breaking over the loss of Rev. Amanda, the leadership of this congregation is compassionate, strong, and sound. Please be assured that we will not only survive this transition, but we will thrive!

In Faith and Love,
Marie Holliday, President
