Weekend Lunch 2026: Living Our Values Through Shared Meals
At High Street Unitarian Universalist Church, our commitment to social justice is not abstract—it is lived, practiced, and shared in real ways. One of the most tangible expressions of that commitment is our participation in Weekend Lunch at Christ Church, a ministry that offers nourishment, dignity, and community to our neighbors who need it most.
In 2026, the High Street UUC Social Justice Team will once again partner in this vital effort on the following weekends:
February 28–March 1
May 2–3
August 1–2
October 17–18
These weekends are more than dates on a calendar. They are opportunities to live our faith through action—by showing up, preparing meals, serving with kindness, and offering hospitality without judgment. A shared lunch can be a powerful act of justice. It affirms the worth and dignity of every person, builds relationships across difference, and reminds us that care for one another is holy work.
Weekend Lunch reflects a simple but profound truth: goodness grows when people come together. Volunteers often report that they receive as much as they give—connection, perspective, and a deeper sense of belonging to something larger than themselves.
Whether you are able to help cook, serve, donate supplies, or simply spread the word, your participation matters. This ministry depends on collective effort, and every contribution helps ensure that our neighbors are met with respect, warmth, and a good meal.
If you have questions or would like to get involved, please contact Gaye by call or text at 478-955-4519, or email socialjustice@hsuuc.org.
Together, let us continue to put love into action—one weekend, one meal, and one act of justice at a time.
