In the Beloved Community, it is necessary to prioritize people over polity, always seeking what is best for people instead of always following the rules. Rev. Sara Pugh Montgomery is the Senior Pastor at Centenary Church here in Macon. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) and Candler School of Theology at Emory University. After serving Methodist congregations in New York City, Virginia, and Oklahoma, she came to Centenary in July 2021. She and her husband Larry (a nurse practitioner by trade) live in Macon with their three children.
