About Us
High Street Unitarian Universalist Church is a community of brave, curious, and compassionate people — thinkers and doers — rooted in Macon for more than a century. Drawn from many backgrounds and life experiences, we are united by a shared commitment to making a difference for the common good, standing on the side of love, justice, and peace both within our walls and throughout Middle Georgia.
We gather as one community while honoring many paths. At High Street, we believe we need not think alike to love alike. Life itself is our greatest teacher, and every person’s story deepens our shared spiritual journey.
Among us are people who believe in God, people who don’t, and people who are comfortable living with mystery. You’ll find Unitarian Universalists who are Buddhist and Christian, Humanist and Jewish, Pagan, atheist, and agnostic — all discovering meaning, connection, and belonging together.
For decades, High Street UUC has been a welcoming and justice-seeking presence in Macon. For more than 40 years, we have publicly affirmed and celebrated people of all sexual orientations and gender identities, striving to create a community where everyone is free to live and love authentically.
Whoever you are, and wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here. Bring your whole self — your questions and your convictions, your worries and your hopes — and join us as we explore together what it means to live with love, compassion, and integrity.
