About Us
At High Street Unitarian Universalist Church, we are a community of brave, curious, and compassionate thinkers and doers. Rooted in Macon for more than a century, we draw strength from our diverse backgrounds and a shared commitment to making a difference for the good — standing on the side of love, justice, and peace both within our walls and throughout Middle Georgia.
We come from many faiths and life experiences, yet we gather as one community seeking wisdom, connection, and purpose. We believe that we need not think alike to love alike. Here, life experience is our greatest teacher, and every person’s story adds to the richness of our shared spiritual journey.
Among us are people who believe in God, people who don’t, and people who simply let the mystery be. We are Unitarian Universalist and Buddhist, Christian and Humanist, Jewish and Pagan, atheist and agnostic — all finding meaning and belonging together.
High Street UUC has long been a welcoming presence in Macon, advocating for inclusion and justice. For more than 40 years, we have celebrated and supported people of all sexual orientations and gender identities, striving to create a community where everyone can live and love authentically.
Whoever you are, and wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here. Bring your whole self — your questions and your convictions, your worries and your hopes — and join us as we explore together what it means to live with love, compassion, and integrity.
