When founded in 2017, NOMO became the first transgender-led non-profit organization in our region. It was created to provide education, advocacy, and life-saving support to the LGBTQ+ community in Middle GA. NOMO focuses on providing safe spaces for transgender persons, particularly for Black trans women, while also supporting LGBTQ+ youth, parents, couples, and allies through peer support groups, HIV education, mental health advocacy, community outreach, and empowerment programs. Today, NOMO’s founder, Zaria Newbill, will share with us the mission and vision of this important resource in our community.
